|
|
Hi
I was about to install the CSP and noticed that it said
"phpBB Forum (version 2.x)" but in my fantastico it is version 3
of phpBB, anyone knows if the CSP is compatible with phpBB V3?
Or do I have to download version 2 and manually install it?
Thankful for info.

Hi Peter,
I haven't actually tested CSP with phpBB v3, so you might as well give it a go and see if it works.
Hopefully the templates for v2 are compatible with v3.
If you try it, let me know how you go!
I'll also put some time aside to give it a test on my end.
cheers

Hi Sam,
This is what I found/made so far, not with much luck though. . .
It seems the header works, but then. . . it falls apart
You can see the results at http://www.peteriremo.com/forum/
The images are located under "styles/subsilver2/theme/images"
not templates as before.
I renamed the stylesheet to "stylesheet.css"
The Templates seems to have changed name,
if I am right they are now called:
(They are also located in the "styles" directory,
not as before the "template" directory.)
overall_header.tpl now => overall_header.html
simple_header.tpl now => simple_header.html
With my limited knowledge of phpBB and time I
haven't gotten any further then this.
Hope you have better luck (skills) then me!
I let you know if I get any further.
Regards
Peter |

Hi Peter,
Your header looks really nice - great job with the graphics!
You're right, its a bit of a disaster after that.
It looks like they've changed their whole template system, and they're not backwards compatible. That's a shame.
It looks like I just need to recreate them for v3.
I'll keep you posted.
cheers

Thanks Sam, long nights "fiddling" with photoshop
Yes you are right, big changes for "just" an updated version.
Looking forward to your update.
Take care.

But no problems, I'll get you an update. Thanks for pointing this out!

Hi Sam,
Just checking to see if you've made any headway with the phpBB update?
My old version of CSP won't display the header on the forum either.
Thanks,

Hi Mike,
I've been flat out on DLGuard, but now that the latest version is released I'll install phpBB3 and see what's going on!
Check back here shortly!
cheers

Hi Pierre,
Thanks for your interest!
I'll have to have another look at phpBB3.
They've made some other changes as well that mess with the way page headers are set.
I wish they hadn't made so many changes, I think v2 was great.
cheers
